I am a proud member of the Skomesh people of the Pacific Northwest, and in our culture smoked salmon has long been considered a prized and sacred food. Delicious and rich in nutrients, smoked salmon not only provides us with physical sustenance, we believe it is an essential food for the spirit, or soul, within each and every one of us.

 

My partners and I bring that same level of respect for this wonder of nature to every wild salmon we sustainably source on your behalf. We then meticulously employ curing and cold-smoking methods that have been handed down through generations of my people to create a flavour profile that is truly unique to “Best.Salmon.Ever”.

BEST.SALMON.EVER. is the perfect HOT appetizer.

 

If you're a traditionalist, don't worry – you can still enjoy our smoked salmon sliced thinly and served at room temperature in "lox" fashion. In fact, we are in the process of introducing that very product option! (see our product line below)

 

BUT HERE'S THE THING: we have intentionally cured and cold-smoked our salmon in such a way that when it is properly baked and served hot (or even warm), you will discover a richness and a depth of flavour that will both surprise and delight you.

 

Judging from the rave reviews we receive from virtually everyone who has tried BEST.SALMON.EVER prepared as a hot appetizer or main dish, chances are very good you'll never want to eat smoked salmon any other way!

SERVING INSTRUCTIONS

 

Preparing our salmon for serving could not be easier. Simply preheat oven to 350 degrees F, then remove the vacuum pack from its outer box and thaw to room temperature by submerging it in a bowl of cool water.
It shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes or so to defrost completely.

BEST.SALMON.EVER. is currently available in 227g (half-pound) boxed quick-frozen fillets in the freezer section of your supermarket, as well as in 227g (half-pound) pre-sliced lox packages and an assortment of single fillet sizes from 150g to 250g typically sold at the store's fresh fish counter or in the nearby cooler section.

Once thawed, remove the fillet from its vacuum pack, rinse in cold water and place in an ovenproof dish. Bake for 15-20 minutes. You’ll find it puffs up beautifully and comes out moist, flaky, tender – and delicious.

 

Serve immediately as an appetizer with cream cheese and wafer crackers or thin baguette slices. A tasty alternative: break into flakes with a fork and add to omelettes, scrambled eggs, salads, and even carbonara or alfredo sauce!
